I guess I should begin with the fact that I am sitting in our living room surrounded by boxes. We are moving to Michigan next week. This will be our 7th move in 13 years of marriage. This will be the 13th move of my life which doesn’t even include all the times I switched dorm rooms or even when I moved off campus in college. Sometimes I feel a little bit like a nomad. We definitely don’t have a permanent place and I don’t know that we ever will. We like being open to wherever God leads us and he’s definitely taking us on an adventure this time!
The biggest change this time is that we are leaving the south and heading to the great white north. I have never seen as much snow as what we will experience this winter. The furthest north I’ve ever lived is Macon, Georgia! This will be a big change for us, but we are excited. This blog will hopefully give me a way to document our journey and new experiences while also keeping our friends and family updated.
I’m terrible at trying to figure out how to end emails, texts, phone calls, etc. I think that might have been one of the reasons it has taken me so long to write a first post. Well, that and the fact that I’m nervous to write anything because I am definitely not a “real” writer. I write whatever I think and then pray that I didn’t make too many grammatical errors. And then there’s the whole sharing my life with people. I have spent the last 10 minutes staring at the computer trying to figure out how to end this. So…
First post. Done!
